I believe we are all born with the passion to create on a daily basis ... to push personal boundaries and invent ways to explore, release, communicate, get emotions onto canvas, into journals, molded to clay or papier-mâché ... I feel fortunate to have never lost the fervor to do art, in any medium, shape or form and blessed to inspire and work with children annually at my summer "Art Bound Camp" in Stonington, Connecticut. Here original art and writing are spontaneously generated during five mornings, with the last day spent assembling the week's creations into hand-bound treasures of a lifetime. To be able to express oneself through the arts instills self-esteem, confidence and harmony ... JOY beyond words. Much of my art is applied to handmade artist's books which become a foundation to encourage others in following their creative paths while on journeys of healing or discovery. Collage, writing, drawing, painting and photography are just a few possible means of filling one's keepsake. HONEY was created with pastels and gratitude for the amazing, insightful master of truth, Andrew Vachss. His honesty is the strength I need for the changes I want to see.
