Named after the town of Rottweil in Germany, the Rottweiler is of ancient origin and its exact composition is lost to time. It is believed to be a descendent of the mastiff-type dogs used for herding and guarding brought north by the Roman military. It was through his interest in Rottweilers that Randall's owner first discovered the works of Andrew Vachss. He'd always wanted one and noticed a picture of Andrew Vachss with the author's Rottweiler in a newspaper. He read the article and has been hooked on Rottweilers and Vachss' writing ever since. |
