When I brought Albert Einstein ("Bert") into my home and my life I thought it was because I needed something to love me unconditionally. I thought the deal would be his unconditional love for my food, shelter and attention. Deals are generally made so that both parties feel equally compensated for what they give up. I got so much more in return for what I gave. I used to call him my little man; my fearless protector. He was twenty-three pounds of pure love and joy. He provided me with an enormous sense of joy, security and comfort. Contributing to the ten years and seven months of his growth has surely made me a better person. He will remain in my heart and be in my thoughts forever.
